Itinerary

Day 1: Singapore - Vientiane (MOB/D)

Welcome to Vientiane , the capital city of Laos. Vientiane is a fascinating capital, with fusion of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French and American influences. This charming and easy going city will provide a smooth introduction to Laos. On the way to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure, That Luang Stupa , you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument , which is known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

Day 2: Vientiane - Vang Vieng (B/L/D)

A city tour acquaints you with the capital visiting some of the major sights including the oldest temple Wat Sisaket , with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo , which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Transfer to Buddha Park . Built in 1958, the park contains a collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, scatte red amongst garden and streets. Located about 28km south of Vientiane at the edge of the Mekong River, the town of Nong Khai in neighbouring Thailand can be seen on the opposite side. Set off northbound on rout no 13 for Vang Vieng passing through spectacu lar countryside towards the mountainous region. Enroute stop by a famous archaeological site dating back to the 11th century.

Day 3: Vang Vieng

Welcome to the small town of Vang Vieng, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River. Situated 150km north of the capital, Vang Vieng is set in the dreamlike landscape of bizarre limestone mountain peaks and sheer cliffs with Nam Song River bisecting the town. Despite the recent developments, its stunning scenery with a mixture of quiet water and limestone outcrops remain unspoiled. Hop on a local tractor passing through paddy fields heading to Tham Phoukham Caves where your breath will be taken away by the beautiful limestone caves surrounded by natural forests. Greet the local villagers and understand their daily lifestyle along the way. You may wish to take a swim in the natural pool in front of the caves or simply explore the nearby area. Return to Vang Vieng Town passing by the ethnic minority villages of Hmong, Souay and Taidam.

Day 4: Vang Vieng - Vientiane (B/L/D)

Cross the Nam Song River to Tham Jang Cave with a short trek through the breathtaking mountain landscape to explore the Tam None Cave and some hill villages. Return to Vientiane, with a stopover at Ban Keun , a village that distills the local Lao whisky and its salt extraction plant. If time permits, you may also wish to try your luck at the Lao casino located in the valley with a stunning view of the lake, if time permits.

Day 5: Vientiane - Singapore (B)

Bid farewell to Laos as you set off for your flight home.
