    Travel Haven

Luxury Travel Tailor Made For You With more than 18 years of experience in serving our clients and assisting travelers to embark on a memorable journey, you are assured of a remarkable holiday.

  • Day 1: Arrival - Phnom Penh
Upon your arrival in Phnom Penh, you will be greeted by your English speaking local guide who will accompany you to the hotel for check in. Phnom Penh was once considered one of the most beautiful in the Orient, and despite its recent turbulent history it still retains a colonial charm. Cambodia's capital is a vibrant bustling city nestled majestically on the banks of the confluence of the mighty rivers of the Mekong and the Tonle Sap.After a relaxing break, you will set out to discover the most remarkable sights of Phnom Penh in a Cyclo, an original Phnom Penh means of transportation and a very fun way to explore this lively city. First, head to the Royal Palace. This palace dates back to 1866 and was the last palace built during the French colonial period. The same complex houses the Silver Pagoda, named for the over 5000 heavy silver tiles that cover its floors. Its original name is Wat Prakeo, meaning Temple of the Emerald Buddha. In this temple you will view a collection of Buddhas in gold, silver, crystal, and bronze.Continue to the National Museum, which was built in traditional Khmer style. It houses the world's foremost collection of ancient Khmer artistic, archaeological, and religious artifacts from the 4th to the 13th centuries. Over 5,000 pieces are on display, constituting the repository of the Kingdom's cultural wealth. In addition, the roof space is home to a large bat colony! This afternoon, you will explore the recent dark history of Cambodia on a visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide. The museum is housed in the former school that was taken over by the Khmer Rouge and used as its main detention and torture center. Return to the hotel where you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (B)
Mid-morning, you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight across Cambodia to Siem Reap, the gateway to the majestic temples of Angkor and a charming little city. Your guide will meet you and accompany you while you check into your hotel. Enjoy a break at your hotel before embarking on a first discovery tour. Start the visits to Angkor at the early temples of the Roluos Group, about 15km outside of Siem Reap. Roluos is the site of an ancient center of Khmer civilization known as Hariharalaya. It was the first town built by the Angkorian kings in the 8th and 9th century and consists of three main temples: Bakong, Lolei and Preah Ko. The surrounding countryside with its paddy fields and sugar palm trees is very typical for Cambodia – enjoy the beauty on a cow cart ride, a great and fun way to get in touch with rural Cambodia and its friendly people. Overnight in Siem Reap.
    Day 3: Siem Reap (B)
Today, visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom in an ecofriendly electric vehicle. Angkor Thom was the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. This city is surrounded by an 8 m high wall, with each side of the city being 4 km long, drawing a perfect square. Enter the city through the ancient South Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with Elephants and four giant faces. On each side of the entrance path a row of 54 gods or demons is holding the sacred Naga snake. From here, continue to Bayon Temple in the exact center of the city. The particularity of this monument is the 54 towers with four faces representing the 54 provinces of the then Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs. Here, in a small contemporary pagoda in the vicinity of these famous monuments, Buddhist monks will celebrate a private blessing ceremony for you, wishing you health and a safe journey – a very special experience!Return to Siem Reap for a break. This afternoon, you will embark on an interesting boat trip on the Tonlé Sap Lake, where you will have the opportunity to learn about life on the lake. Tonle Sap is South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake with its size varying greatly depending on the season. During the dry season it is roughly 2,500 km2, swelling to about four times it size during the wet season: 10,000 km2! Board a local boat and visit Kampong Phluck, a village where we’ll see houses on stilts that are submerged when Tonlé Sap Lake extends. On the way, you will pass floating houses and impressive flooded forests, portraying life on the water. Overnight in Siem Reap.
    Day 4: Siem Reap (B)
After breakfast, drive to the rural outskirts of Siem Reap, about 35km from town, where you will visit Banteay Srei, also known as the Citadel of women. This temple is considered to be the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture. It is a small temple but its pink sandstone carvings are impressive. On the way back to Siem Reap, stop at the Landmine Museum which promotes mine awareness and education. Mr. Aki Ra, the museum founder, was a child soldier during the Khmer Rouge regime and is working today as a de-miner. The museum serves also as a rescue center for a number of landmine amputee children that Aki Ra has brought off Phnom Penh’s streets or from impoverished rural communities. This afternoon, depart on a very special sightseeing tour of the famous Angkor Wat in a local tuk tuk. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing the Mount Meru, home of the gods. The divine residence of Vishnu, the King himself was to reside here after his death. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings and bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II fought during his reign. Moreover, Angkor Wat is well known for the more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. Construction is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labor. Today, Angkor Wat is figured on Cambodia's national flag as the temple symbolizes the soul of the Khmer people. Overnight in Siem Reap.
    Day 5: Siem Reap - Departure (B)
Enjoy the day at your leisure for some relaxation at your hotel or for some personal shopping on Siem Reap’s interesting markets. You may visit Artisans d’Angkor, right in the town center. Artisan d’Angkor was established in 1992 in order to support Cambodian arts and crafts, and to help young people find work in their local villages by continuing the practice of traditional arts. Among the workshops available for visit are wood and stone carving, wood and stone lacquering, gilding, and silk processing. Transfer to the airport for your individual departure flight.
